Universal Cables FY-23 Financials: Revenue Grows 21%, PAT Shoots Up 58% YoY

Universal Cables Limited [NSE: UNIVCABLES, BOM: 504212], also known as Unistar, and a part of the MP Birla Group, has posted its financial results for the quarter and year ended 31st March 2023.

Unistar’s Standalone FY23 Financial Figures

For the concluding quarter of FY-23, Universal Cables reported a standalone revenue of Rs. 582.87 crore from operations, and a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 14.58 crore.

The company clocked Rs. 2,201.95 crore as its top line and a corresponding PAT of Rs. 63.19 crore during the entire FY-23.

Universal Cables’ standalone Earnings Per Share (EPS) stood at Rs. 4.20 for Q4 of FY23, and Rs. 18.21 for the entire 2022-23 financial year.

Unistar’s Q4 revenue exhibited a marginal decrease of 1.91% to Rs. 582.87 crore in FY-23 from Rs. 594.23 crore logged during FY-22. Further, the company reported a PAT of Rs. 41.06 crore for the quarter ended 31st March 2023, which is 31.94% higher YoY.

Considering the full financial year, in FY-23 the company generated Rs. 2,201.95 crore top line, which portrays a robust Year-over-Year (YoY) growth of 21.42% from Unistar’s Rs. 1,813.54 crore revenue for FY-22.

PAT on an annual basis, rocketed to Rs. 118.15 crore in FY-23 from Rs. 74.93 crore in FY-22, a growth of 57.68%.

Comparing the consolidated EPS of the company, a noticeable jump to Rs. 11.83 in Q4 of FY-23 from Rs. 8.98 in Q4 of FY-22 is evident. Further, Universal Cables’ EPS for the entire FY-23 stood at Rs. 34.05, which marks a significant leap from its FY-22 EPS of Rs. 21.60.

QoQ Comparison of Unistar’s Financial Figures: Q4 FY-23 vs. Q3 FY-23

On a Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) basis, the company’s top line showed a slight shrinkage by 1.37% from Rs. 590.99 crore, logged for the quarter ended 31st December 2022. PAT however grew remarkably, soaring by 68.21% from Rs. 24.41 crore which was reported for Q3 of FY-23.
