Telangana CM Inaugurates India’s Largest Private Rail Coach Factory in Hyderabad

Mr. Chandrsekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana inaugurated India’s largest private rail coach factory on 22nd June 2023 in Kondakal village, near Hyderabad in Telangana. This facility has been developed by Medha Servo Drives Private Ltd. (MSDPL), a railway product manufacturing company. With an investment of Rs. 1,000 crore, the facility has a 100 acre footprint.

The aforementioned facility will manufacture 50 locomotive engines and 500 coaches per year. Additionally, the factory will produce metro trains, monorails, train sets and various kinds of railway rolling stock. The estimated cost for this project is Rs. 805 crore, while Rs. 400 crore will be invested in the first phase of development.

A Memorandum of Association (MoA) had been signed between the company and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) in 2017 for the construction of the aforementioned facility.
