Titagarh Rail Systems Wins 1,598.55 Cr Contract of Coaches for Mumbai Metro Line 6
Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. has been awarded a contract worth Rs. 1,598.55 crore to supply 108 metro coaches for the Mumbai Metro Rail Project. According to the company’s stock filing dated 3rd August 2025, the company has also received the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the project.
The LoA was issued by NCC Ltd., which is executing the project on behalf of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The metro coaches will be deployed on Line 6 of the Mumbai Metro, which will connect Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli.
Under the contract, Titagarh will supply 18 trainsets, each comprising six coaches, totalling 108 coaches. The company’s scope of work includes designing, manufacturing, supplying, testing, and commissioning the metro coaches. The design and development phase is expected to be completed within two years. Following delivery, Titagarh will provide a two-year defect liability period, after which the company will undertake comprehensive maintenance for five years.
Earlier in July 2025, Titagarh Rail Systems has received a LoA from the Ministry of Railways for the supply of wagons.
