Technip Energies Gets NTPC Contract for Hydrogen Plant

NTPC has awarded French engineering company, Technip Energies, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for building its Hydrogen generation plant. The project is located at Vindhyachal in Madhya Pradesh.

The contract includes delivery of a 5 MW Hydrogen generation plant using Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysis technology at NTPC’s Super Thermal Power Station in Vindhyachal.

NTPC is also working to setup two other units alongwith Hydrogen generation. Firstly, a CO2 capture facility that captures CO2 from flue gas stream of the Coal-fired power plant. Secondly, a Methanol unit that uses the captured CO2 and Hydrogen through a PEM electrolyzer to convert it into green Methanol.
