SJVN Green Energy to Supply 600 MW Solar Power in Rajasthan

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has signed a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) for 500 MW of solar power and a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 100 MW of solar power with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services (RUVITL). This information was shared by SJVN Ltd. in its stock filing on March 10, 2024.

Under the PUA, SJVN Green Energy will supply 500 MW of solar power from its 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project, currently under development. This project is being developed under Phase-II (Tranche-3) of the Central Public Sector Units (CPSU) Scheme. The power supplied under this agreement will be charged at a tariff rate of Rs. 2.57 per unit. Bikaner Solar Power Project is anticipated to be operational by September 30, 2024, with a development cost of Rs. 5,491 crore.

Further, under the PPA, SGEL will provide 100 MW of solar power to RUVITL at a tariff rate of Rs. 2.62 per unit. This power will be sourced from a project secured by SJVN Green through competitive bidding and will follow a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) model. This project is being developed at 387.56 acres of land of Sambhar Salts Ltd., Nawa, Rajasthan with an estimated cost of Rs. 550 crore.
