Sify Technologies Signs 231 MW Clean Energy PPAs with Vibrant Energy
Chennai-based Sify Technologies has signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 231 MW with for powering its data centres with solar and wind energy. Vibrant Energy Holdings is a majority-owned subsidiary of Blue Leaf Energy Asia Pte Ltd, which is a portfolio company of Macquarie’s GIG.
Sify has three data centres in Mumbai. These PPAs with Vibrant Energy will be used to procure power for one of these data centres and Sify’s campus in Mumbai.
Out of the 231 MW, PPA for 67 MW of solar energy had already been signed in March 2021, and has been commissioned. An investment of Rs. 1,250 crore will be done for the remaining capacity through a combination of debt and equity in a 2:1 ratio respectively.
