Polycab Introduces CAT 6 UTP Solid Copper Cables and Lockable Patch Cords
Polycab Limited, the leading wire and cable manufacturer of India, via its Telecom business unit has introduced a range of CAT 6 UTP (UNSHIELDED TWISTED PAIRS) Solid Copper Cables under its network solutions portfolio. Along with these cables, Polycab has also introduced lockable patch cords.
Different offerings under Polycab’s CAT6 Solid Copper Cables
Polycab, last year in March announced its foray in passive network solutions for 5G networks and expressed its intent to launch more products for this category. CAT 6 UTP are an addition to the category and the new cables offered include:

- CAT 6 UTP SOLID COPPER CABLE 23 AWG DOUBLE JACKET-OUTDOOR
- CAT 6 UTP SOLID COPPER CABLE 23 AWG ECCS TAPE ARMOURED
Applications and Features of Polycab’s CAT 6 UTP Cables
The Cat 6 cables are used mainly for computer networks reaching 1000 Mbps or one Gbps of data transfer speed (DTR) or higher. Therefore, the Polycab’s CAT 6 UTP solid copper cable will be used for data center applications and networking solutions where high-speed data transfer is required.
Polycab’s stated that its CAT 6 UTP cables comply to ANSI/TIA-568-C.2, ISO/IEC 11801. These CAT6 UTP cables have bandwidh of 250 Mhz and operating voltage of 72V. All the cables in this range have four pairs twisted together having high-density polyethylene (HDPE) insulation. The outer jacket and armour is as per the cable description.
Polycab Lockable Patch Cords
Polycab has also launched Lockable Patch Cords with the facility to insert an optional locking pin into a specifically carved boot to lock down network ports. This will help keep cables locked and protected in place as per requirement. Polycab further added that these lockable patch cords are made of FR-PVC and can be used for all kinds of network connections.
Secured Lockable Patch Cords may prove useful in places like data centres, IT networks, conference rooms and branch office connections with high-density switches. Network ports remain safe from unauthorised access and accidental disconnects.
