Polycab Launches Passive Network Solutions for 5G Connectivity

Polycab Limited, the leading wire and cable manufacturer of India, via its Telecom business unit, has launched a comprehensive range of end-to-end *passive networking solutions (Optical Fibers and related accessories) in India. With this new range Polycab will be able to support high-speed broadband, IoT-connectivity and other new and emerging applications with the roll out of 5G network in India.
*Passive networking solutions are those parts of computer network that are involved in data transmission in the network, but they don’t change or affect the data. The passive network hardware includes Cables (fiber optic cable, coaxial cables), Connectors, Switchboards, Clutches and Plugs.
5G Rollout in India and Ploycab’s One Stop OEM Strategy
With replacement of 4G technology, 5G would bring in low latency, ultra-high-speed data transfer rate, huge data-traffic and connection-density, thereby creating a need for rapid and structured roll-out of optical fiber cables in India. Polycab, understanding this demand has forayed in optical fibre segment to maintain its market leader stature in the Indian Cable industry.
IoT-devices, Wi-Fi connections, cameras or high-capacity networks bring in their true value with high speed in data-flow only when the devices are connected to networks that meet the standards of desired performance. Polycab stated that it wants to serve as a single OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for electrical and passive networking solutions under one brand.
Besides government and PSUs Ploycab is targeting BFSI, Manufacturing, IT/ITES, Healthcare, Pharma or any segment, requiring optical fiber based digital infrastructure.
Commenting on the issue Mr. Inder T Jaisinghani, Chairman & Managing Director, Polycab India Ltd said “In today’s digital era of power and data emerging as complementary assets, we’ve brought together the offerings to evolve as a stronger and more capable, single-source manufacturer and provider of power and data-solutions”.
“We’re uniquely positioned to manufacture and craft a whole range of end-to-end passive networking products for voice, data, video and end-point applications of communication networks”, says Ashish D. Jain- Executive President & COO, Telecom Business, Polycab India Ltd.
