Shakti Pumps Launches Universal Drive To Power Solar Pumps
Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd., manufacturer of domestic and industrial pumps has announced the launch of ‘SIMHA 2.0 Universal Drive’ for solar pumps. Solar pump drives or pump controllers are electronic units used in between pump and the power source to run the pump motor efficiently.
Shakti Pump’s SIMHA Universal Drive 2.0 to Support Wide Variety of Pumps

Shakti Pump’s SIMHA 2.0 Universal Drive is an upgraded version of SIMHA that was launched by the company in 2018. The company in its release claimed that its new drive supports a wide variety of solar pump motors.
SIMHA 2.0 comes with IP65 design that makes it dust proof and rain proof. It would be offered by a company with plug-and-play connectors.
The distinguishing feature of this drive from its predecessor would be advanced MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm which is used for extracting maximum available power from the PV module to the pump.
SIMHA Universal Drive 2.0 to Offer Remote Monitoring and IoT Connectivity for Industrial Usage
Shakti Pumps said SIMHA 2.0 is boasts of a remote monitoring system along with a graphical LCD display and ON/OFF buttons on the physical unit for easy operation.
Operators can access data logging facilities which can be taken via Bluetooth / USB and an IoT-based mobile app control.
Shakti Pump Expanding its Portfolio After Launch of PM-KUSUM Scheme
Shakti Pumps is a channel partner for the Indian Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. Of India since 2013. This enables the company to sell its products directly to customers and claim subsidies from the Ministry, and can also participate in Government promoted solar projects.
Shakti Pumps offers a range of solar pumps between 1HP (Horse Power) to 100HP to be installed at solar power sites.
Shakti Pumps is also offering its product range under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surakshaevam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. Shakti Pump has set a target to install 4 lakh solar powered pumps under this scheme. PM-Kusum launched in 2019 is an Indian-Government sponsored scheme designed to help empower farmers by raising their income through the use of these solar-powered irrigation pump sets. The Government’s target is to install 17.5 lakh solar powered pumps.
