Schneider Electric to Merge 6 Bengaluru Factories, Expand Capacity

Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of France-based Schneider Electric SE, has announced that it would be consolidating 6 of its 10 factories in Bengaluru into a single smart factory.
Schneider Electric to Invest Rs. 425 Crore and Double its Manufacturing Capacity
Schneider stated that its plan to consolidate its Bengaluru factories will entail an investment outlay of Rs. 425 crore, will result in doubling of the company’s manufacturing capabilities. Schneider will be expanding its floor area to a 1,000,000 sqft of industrial setup from the current 500,000 sqft.
Schneider’s new Bengaluru smart factory will manufacture product ranges including single-phase UPS, three-phase UPS, power distribution units, low voltage drives digital energy products related to meters, pre-fabricated data centres, relays and renewable energy products.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Anil Chaudhary, Zone President, India and CEO & MD Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd. said “India is the 3rd largest market for Schneider Electric and huge base for export operations. As an industry leader, we feel that now is the ideal time for us to step up our efforts and support the state and national economic growth. Deemed as the Factory of the Future, our new manufacturing campus will be one of our largest smart factories, globally, to be based in India. This new smart factory with contribute to the country’s economic growth in coming years while significantly contributing to making India Atmanirbhar”.
Schneider’s Integrated Smart Factory to Cater Exports and Domestic Demand
Schneider in its press release stated that its new Bengaluru smart factory will create 1,000+ job opportunities after expansion and consolidation of the 6 existing factories. The upcoming smart factory will also have 80 per cent export volume capacity to customers in 30 countries across the world.
Commenting on the new expansion plan Mr. Javed Ahmad, Sr. Vice President, Global Supply Chain, International Region, Schneider Electric added, “This is facility will be a union of three different kinds of manufacturing capabilities: Electronics PCBA, Electronics Products, and Electronics Systems. With a projected sale of over Rs.5,200 crore by 2026, this manufacturing base expansion in Karnataka will also amplify our investments in 4IR technologies to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.”
