Rithwik Projects Secures 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Project Worth 1,098 Cr. from SJVN
Rithwik Projects has secured an EPC order for 382 MW Sunni dam Hydro project worth Rs. 1,098 crore from Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited. The company received Letter of Award (LoA) from SJVN for this project on 14th March 2023 and a contract was signed on 23rd March 2023 for the same.
This Run-of-the-River Hydroelectricity plant will be established on river Satluj in Mandi and Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh. This project will produce 1,382 MU (Million Units) of electricity per year and create employment opportunities for about 4,000 people. This project will get completed by November 2027.
Once commissioned, 13% of electricity produced from this plant will be provided free of cost to Himachal Pradesh government. This includes 1% free electricity which will be given to the Local Area Development Fund (LADF). Over the project’s 40 year-lifespan, this free electricity to the state will translate to monetary benefits of about Rs. 2,803 crore.
