RIL’s FY-22 Investments Outside its Core Business Total USD 9.3 Billion

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) invested USD 9.3 billion (about Rs 73,764 crore) in the 2021-22 financial year outside its core business. These investments were made outside the company’s Oil-to-Chemicals, Retail and Telecommunications businesses, which are the three core segments in RIL’s portfolio.

RIL has invested a total amount of Rs. 30,000 crore in its realty business. Out of this investment amount, Rs. 10,000 crore has been invested in Reliance 4IR Realty Development Limited and the remaining amount has been invested in Reliance Projects & Property Management Services Ltd. While the former is engaged in projects like the development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Navi Mumbai and Haryana, the latter is engaged in developing infrastructure for Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail.

Other than this, some other investments by RIL outside its core businesses include Rs. 9,703 crore investment in Reliance Services and Holdings Ltd., Rs. 2,812 crore in Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd., and Rs. 1,442 crore investment in Dunzo.
