Punjab Energy Inks MoU with HPCL to set up 10 Compressed Biogas Projects
Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for setting up 10 Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects in Punjab. These projects will be developed by HPCL at an estimated cost of Rs. 600 crore.
These upcoming CBG projects are expected to produce more than 35,000 tonne of biogas and approximately 8,700 tonne organic manure every year. These CBG projects are expected to generate about 2,100 job opportunities in the state of Punjab.
