POWERGRID to Invest Rs. 367 Cr. in Transmission Projects

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL or POWERGRID) board has approved investments worth Rs. 367 crore for transmission projects in India.

Out of the total investment amount, Rs. 224.41 crore will be invested by PGCIL to establish a transmission system to evacuate power from Renewable Energy (RE) Zone in Khavda, Gujarat. This investment will be towards phase IV part-E4 of the transmission system in Khavda RE Zone. This project is expected to be commissioned in July 2025.

Furthermore, PGCIL board also approved an investment worth Rs. 142.69 crore to increase transformation capacity of Maheshwara (PG) substation in Telengana by adding 1,500 Mega Volt Amp (MVA) Inter-connecting Transformer (ICT). This transformer will step-down the voltage from 765 KV to 400 KV. This ICT is scheduled to be commissioned in April 2025.
