Panasonic Plans to Establish Battery Manufacturing Facility in India

Panasonic Holdings Corporation, Japanese electrical equipment manufacturer, is planning to establish a battery manufacturing facility in India. Panasonic seeks to develop this facility under the Indian Government’s Product Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage, which has an outlay of Rs. 18,100 crore.

Panasonic’s proposed battery manufacturing unit will supply batteries to various automobile companies such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, and Tata Motors for their electric vehicles.
