SJVN Green Energy Signs PPAs for Setting up 300 MW RE Capacity
SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited, has signed two Power Purchase Agreements for the development of 300 MW Renewable Energy (RE) capacity.
SGEL has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for a 200 MW solar power project. SGEL has quoted a tariff rate of Rs. 2.90 per unit for the power from this project, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,200 crore. Expected to be completed in December 2024, SGEL’s project will generate 456 Million units (MUs) of electricity in the first year and a total of 10,481 MU in 25 years.
Further, SGEL has also signed a PPA for a 100 MW wind power project with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). SGEL’s quoted tariff as per the PPA is Rs. 2.90 per unit from this project. This project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 750 crore on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis and will generate approximately 289.27 MUs of electricity in the first year. During the 25-year validity period of the PPA, this project is expected to generate 7,231.75 MUs of power. This project is expected to be completed in March 2025.
