BEML Wins Rs. 734 Cr. Rolling Stock Order for Bangalore Metro

Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML) has won the contract for design and supply of 72 metro coaches (Rolling Stock Package 6 RS-DM) for a stretch of Bangalore Metro Phase 2 which is 19.143 Km in length. The estimated cost for the development of this project is Rs. 734 crore.

Scope of work in this contract includes designing, manufacturing, supply, testing, and commissioning these 72 standard gauge coaches for Bangalore Metro Phase 2. The contract also comprises training of associated personnel for this project. A completion period of 243 weeks has been specified for this project.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had invited bids for this contract in April 2022.

With a of Rs. 1,029 crore, Alstom was the L2 bidder for this Bangalore Metro contract.
