Panasonic India Adds ‘UNO Plus’ Series To Switchgear Portfolio

Panasonic Life Solutions India, manufacturer of electrical products has launched its range of switchgear ‘UNO Plus’. UNO Plus range consists of miniature circuit breaker (MCB), residual current operated circuit breaker (RCCB), and distribution boards (DB).

Panasonic Developing Indigenous R&D Capabilities for New Products

As per Panasonic the UNO Plus range has been completely developed and designed in India. Panasonic said it has invested around ₹ 3 Crore in research & development and machinery for UNO Plus range of switchgear protection devices. These are being manufactured at Panasonic’s Haridwar manufacturing facility.

Panasonic is presently marketing the new switchgear range in Central and Southern parts of India. The company said it will soon start marketing of UNO Plus in Eastern, Western and Northern India before the end of FY21.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kazuki Yao, Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India said “The UNO Plus range has been developed with Japanese technology by the best of Japanese and Indian minds. With this launch, we further aim to extend our innovative offerings to the metro and tier-2 cities, expand our presence across the country, while increasing our market share in new territories”.

Panasonic’s 7-year Warranty and Safety Features in UNO Plus Switchgear

Panasonic is offering 7-year warranty on UNO Plus Switchgears. The company in its release claimed this is the highest ever warranty offered in India on MCBs (0.5A to 63A).

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Dinesh Aggarwal, Joint Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India said “The range is ideal for all our stakeholders and, we are excited about the initial market response. This is the first product that has been pre-booked before the launch”.

The safety features in the MCBs include safety for appliances from two types of faults – overload and short-circuit. MCBs will be available in range of 0.5A to 63A.

UNO Plus RCCB range starts from 30mA model which are used in household connections, whereas 100 mA to 300 mA models are used for industrial loads.

Both the MCBs and RCCBs in UNO Plus range come with safety shutters, Bi-connection terminals with larger terminal size of 35 Sqmm and ON/OFF label indicators.

Panasonic is also offering distribution boards in this range which can be fitted both in new as well as old electrical wirings.

The range is compliant with IP54 which make them dust and water resistant.
