ONGC Forms JV with EverEnviro Resource Management to Set up CBG Plants in India

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd. has formed a 50-50 Joint Venture (JV) with EverEnviro Resource Management Private Limited for setting up 10 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants in India. As per a recent LinkedIn post by ONGC, the companies have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29th May 2024 for the same.

These CBG plants are expected to reduce India’s dependence on imported gas. Agricultural waste, agro-industrial waste, and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) will be used for the production of Compressed Biogas at these plants.

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. Satyan Kumar, Executive Director of ONGC, said “Our partnership with EverEnviro in establishing CBG plants will significantly contribute to mitigating carbon emissions”. ONGC mentioned in its LinkedIn post that these plants are expected to reduce 7.5 lakh tonne of CO2 equivalent annually.

Mr. Deepak Agarwal, Executive Director of EverEnviro, said “We are confident that our partnership will make a substantial impact in the CBG sector. The fermented organic manure produced as byproduct of CBG will promote regenerative agriculture, enhancing soil health and fertility in the catchment areas”.
