NHAI Raises Rs. 6,267 Cr. from Eastern Peripheral Expressway Monetisation

National Highways Authorities of India has raised Rs. 6,267 crore through the monetisation of the 135 Km-long Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). Indian Highway Concession Trust, a joint venture between Singapore-based Maple Highways and Quebec-based pension fund, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, has secured this expressway under the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) mode of asset monetisation*.

NHAI has raised Rs. 11,000 crore from asset monetisation thus far in FY-23, including this deal. For the entire FY-23, NHAI has set a target of raising Rs. 20,000 crore through the monetisation of about 1,750 Km of National Highways in FY-23.

*As per this mode, investors pay a lumpsum amount in exchange of which they are granted rights to collect toll from a public asset for the period specified in the contract.
