National Aluminium Company Appoints Mr. Brijendra Pratap Singh as its CMD

National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) has appointed Mr. Brijendra Pratap Singh as its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).

Before joining, NALCO as its CMD, Mr. Singh was working as Director-In-Charge for Steel Authority of India Ltd.’s (SAIL) Burnpur and Durgapur Steel plants. He was a member on the Board of SAIL.

Mr. Brijendra Pratap is a 1989 graduate in Mining Machinery Engineering from IIT Dhanbad (earlier Indian School of Mining, Dhanbad). Mr. Singh has over 35 years of experience in Mines and Steel sectors. He started his career at Iron Ore mine of Bhilai Steel Plant in 1989. He also held various key positions at SAIL’s Durgapur Steel plant, Bokaro Steel plant, IISCO Steel Plant and Bhilai Steel Plant.

During his tenure at SAIL, Mr. Singh played a pivotal role in modernising Bhilai and Bokaro Steel plants, in turn increasing their output. SAIL also credits him with maintaining profitability of the Durgapur Steel Plant in FY-21 during the CoVID-19 pandemic.
