Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Singh Takes Charge as Hindustan Copper’s CMD

Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Singh has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited. This information was shared in Ministry of Mines’ PIB release dated 22nd March 2025.

Mr. Singh graduated in 1987 with a B.Tech. degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad (formerly Indian School of Mines). He completed M.Tech. in Opencast mine planning in 1989 from IIT, Dhanbad. Later, he went on to complete Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in 2001.

Hindustan Copper’s newly appointed CMD, started his career in 1987 as Junior Executive Engineer at Coal India Limited (CIL). He worked at CIL for over 14 years and held various important positions in the company. In 2008, Mr. Singh joined NTPC Ltd. as Senior Manager (Mining) and was promoted to General Manager in 2022. He worked at NTPC for over 14 years.

Before being promoted to Hindustan Copper’s apex position, Mr. Singh was serving as the company’s Director for mining operations.
