MEIL, GRIL & VDB Win Warangal-Khammam Expressway’s Packages 1, 2 & 3

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) and VDB Projects Private Limited have secured the Warangal-Khammam expressway’s packages 1, 2 & 3. MEIL, GRIL and VDB have won packages 1, 2 and 3 respectively. The companies received the Letters of Award (LoA) from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on 31st March 2023.

Scope of work in package 1 involves the construction of a 28 Km stretch of highway from Oorugonda village to Venkatpur village. The cost for development of this project is Rs. 774.89 crore.

Package 2 of this project includes the construction of a 39.41 Km stretch of highway from Venkatpur village to Thallasenkesa village at a cost of Rs. 847.87 crore.

Package 3 of Warangal-Khammam expressway project entails the development of a 30.83 Km span of highway from Thallasenkesa village to V.Vekatayapalem village at a cost of Rs. 678 crore.

This project will be executed in Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM)* under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) program. The completion period of this project is 2 years.

*Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) refers to a mode of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) wherein the government and the private player share the project expenses in a 40:60 ratio respectively. After the private player develops the project, it is handed over to the government. The government pays a fixed annuity to the private player for a certain amount of time as defined in the contract.
