L&T Secures Rs. 2,500 Crore – Rs. 5,000 Cr Contract from Indian Oil
Larsen & Toubro, the Indian EPC major’s Hydrocarbon-Onshore division has secured a contract valued between Rs. 2,500 crore to Rs. 5,000 crore from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
L&T’s EPC contract is for setting up and commissioning IOCL’s Residue Hydrocracker Unit (RHCU) at IOCL’s Panipat Refinery Expansion (P-25) Project. Vacuum residue is the residue left after the vacuum distillation of petroleum. This hard-to-process vacuum residue is injected with Hydrogen and cracked using an RHCU to yield higher volume of petroleum products. This RHCU will have a capacity of 2.5 MMTPA, and it will be mainly focused on increasing the diesel production capacity at IOCL’s Panipat Refinery.
This contract was awarded to L&T through international competitive bidding. The project will be developed on a Lump Sum Turnkey basis.
