L&T Secures Orders Worth Rs. 2,500 – 5000 Cr. in Power T&D Sector

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple EPC orders in power Transmission & Distribution sector in India and abroad worth a total value between Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 5,000 crore. This information was given by L&T in its press release dated 27th March 2023.

Domestic T&D Orders Secured by L&T

L&T to Expand RE Transmission Network in Rajasthan and Gujarat

L&T will be working towards the expansion of the Renewable Energy (RE) transmission network in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The company will lay a double circuit 765 KV transmission line to extract renewable power from Fatehgarh, Bhadla and Ramgarh Renewable Energy (RE) zones in Rajasthan.

Larsen & Toubros’ T&D business will also establish a double circuit 765 KV link to connect the Khavda RE zone in Gujarat to Rajasthan. This line will be used to supply green energy from Rajasthan to Gujarat in the case of high RE availability.

The aforementioned transmission line segments will collectively be over 365 Km in length.

L&T’s Transmission & Distribution Business Secures ADMS Project

Further, L&T has received an order to develop Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)* in Greater Mumbai.

Scope of work in this project includes field survey, design and implementation of outage management system, Distribution Management System (DMS), dispatcher training simulator, field force automation, etc. Related hardware and software systems are also included in this order.

Larsen & Toubro to Develop Distribution Infrastructure under RDSS

The company has won an order to construct distribution infrastructure in a district of Chhattisgarh under Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked Distribution Sector (RDSS) Scheme.

Scope of work in this project includes loss reduction, bifurcation, high voltage distribution, GIS asset mapping, and overload mitigation.

Overseas Orders won by L&T

Outside India, L&T has secured four orders, including two in Malaysia and one each in Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

L&T’s Transmission and distribution business has won two orders to build transmission lines in Malaysia, one of 275 KV and the other of 132 KV.

In Saudi Arabia, L&T has secured an order to develop 380 KV substation with related transmission interconnections.

As part of a Joint Venture (JV), L&T has won a package to develop a 500 KV transmission line for the improvement of security systems in northern and central regions of Thailand.
