Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved the development of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) worth Rs. 180 crore in Kotur-Balur industrial area in Dharwad, Karnataka. This information was stated by MeitY in its press release dated 24th March 2023.
This project will be spread over 224.5 acres. Already nine companies, including start-ups have stated that they will make investments of a total Rs. 340 crore with employment opportunities for 2,500 people. The project is expected to assemble total investments of over Rs. 1500 crore and generate more than 18000 employment opportunities.
This upcoming industrial cluster will be situated near NH-48 and Hubli domestic airport, and therefore charges for transporting equipment and raw materials will be low.
