L&T L1 Bidder for Kolkata Metro’s Purple Line Package UG1

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has emerged as the Lowest (L1) bidder with a bid of Rs. 2,447 crore for Kolkata Metro Purple Line-3 underground contract Package UG1. This package is for work on a 5.05 Km stretch that connects Mominpur to Esplanade.

Scope of work in this package involves construction of twin tunnels using cut-cover method. Design and construction of four underground stations, namely, Khidderpore, Victoria, Park Street, and Esplanade are included in the scope of work of this package. Additionally, the package entails architectural finishing works, track works, and other associated works.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) had invited bids for this project in July 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs. 2,571.28 crore.
