L&T Construction Secures a Large Water & Effluent Treatment Contract from BMC
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction has secured a large* contract for water and effluent treatment from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The contract is to execute Bandra Wastewater Treatment Facility under Stage-II of Mumbai Sewage Disposal Project. This information was given by L&T in its press release dated 6th June 2022.
Scope of work in this project includes designing, building, operating and maintaining a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) of 360 (Million Litres per Day) MLD treatment capacity. This STP will also generate inhouse power, thus reducing its dependence on the grid for its power requirements.
Additionally, this facility will also have a panoramic viewing gallery, a knowledge centre, and a library.
*L&T classifies a project as ‘large’ if its value falls between Rs 2,500 crore to 5,000 crore.
