Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited (BCPL) will be investing Rs. 450 crore to develop a Naptha storage and despatch facility in West Bengal’s Haldia port area.
BCPL submitted the Project Feasability Report for this facility to the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port on 18th August 2022.
This facility is being developed for Assam Gas Cracker Project, which was approved by the Government in 2006 with an estimated cost of Rs. 5,460.61 crore. BCPL, which is a GoI enterprise, was incorporated in 2007 to implement Assam Gas Cracker Project. This project targets production of 2 lakh tonnes of Ethylene annually using Natural Gas and Naptha as feedstock.
