KPIL Emerges L1 Bidder with Rs. 999 Cr. Bid for Civil Contract for Nagpur Metro

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) has been declared as Lowest (L1) bidder for constructing three elevated viaducts as part of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.’s (MahaMetro) Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project. This construction project will be executed under package C11 of Nagpur Metro Phase 2.

Kalpataru Project had submitted a bid of Rs. 999 crore for this project against MahaMetro’s estimated cost of Rs. 1,010 crore. This project involves design and construction of three elevated viaducts with a total length of approximately 17.647 Km.

One of these viaducts will be a part of Nagpur metro’s reach 2B and will have a length of 5.9 Km. This viaduct will be built for the northern extension of the Orange Line in Nagpur, connecting Cantonment and Kanhan. The second viaduct be a part of reach 3A of Nagpur metro and will stretch for 6.4 Km from Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna on western extension of Aqua line. The third viaduct will be developed in reach 4A of Nagpur metro and will be 5.3 Km in length. This viaduct will be constructed between Prajapati Square and Transport Nagar on Aqua line’s eastern extension.

As per the tender, this project is expected to be completed in a period of about of three years.

Earlier, these viaducts were planned under three different packages but tendering process for the same was cancelled in February 2024. Following this, construction of these viaducts was later combined into the aforementioned package.
