Suzuki to Setup 2 EV Related Plants in India with 30,400 Cr Investment

Suzuki Motor Corporation will be investing about Rs. 30,400 crore to set up two new plants in India. The foundation stone for these new factories was laid by the Prime Minister on 28th August 2022.

One of these plants will be an electric cell plant situated in Hansalpur, Gujarat. This plant will be established with an investment of about Rs. 10,400 crore, and it will cater to the battery requirements of electric vehicles. This plant is envisioned to be complete by 2026. The second plant that has been planned will be located in Kharkhoda, Haryana. Electric vehicles as well as petrol-driven vehicles will be manufactured here, and this factory will have a production capacity of one million units annually. This plant in Haryana will be established with an investment of about 20,000 crore.

Apart from these two new factories, Suzuki will incorporate a new company, Suzuki R&D Centre India, which will research and develop new mobility technologies for Indian as well as international markets.
