JSW Energy to Purchase GMR Energy Subsidiary for Rs. 5,300 Cr.

JSW Energy Ltd., the power generation, transmission and trading wing of JSW group has signed an agreement with GMR Energy to buy all shares of GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd.

GMR Kamalanga Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GMR group and operates Kamalanga power plant. The plant is located in Dhenkanal district of Odisha having a generation capacity of 1,050 MW (3 x 350 MW units). The acquisition would entail an investment of Rs 5,321 crore from JSW Energy.
