International Battery Co. to Set-up 8,000 Cr. Li-ion Plant in Karnataka

International Battery Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up a Lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) at Devanahalli, Bengaluru. This plant will be developed with an investment of Rs. 8,000 crore. Mr. MB Patil, Minister for Commerce & Industries, shared this information through a tweet on 1^st August 2023.

This proposed plant will have a capacity of 1 GigaWatt (GW) and will be spread over an area of 100 acres. Production at this upcoming plant is expected to begin by 2025.
