Himachal Futuristic gets Rs. 196 Cr. Optical Cables Order from L&T

Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (HFCL), a manufacturer of optical fiber cables, has received purchase order of Rs 196 crore from L&T Ltd. In a stock exchange filling HFCL informed that the order is for supply of Optical Fibre Cables (OFC) for construction of Telangana Fiber Grid (T-Fiber) by L&T under Bharat Net Phase-II Programme of the Government of India.
Delivery schedule for order is within 12 months from date of purchase order.
L&T’s Telangana Fiber Grid Contract

Ealier in 2019 L&T Construction won order for executing one of the largest communication network in India for Telangana Fibre Grid Corporation Ltd. The project called Telangana Fiber Grid aims to provide affordable High Speed Broadband Connectivity and Digital Services across 4 zones, 11 districts, 215 mandals, 3201 gram panchayats and approximately 8.65 lakhs households in the state of Telangana.
Along with many other equipment L&T’s T-Fiber Grid project also includes laying of 65,000 km of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) to connect Zonal Headquarters to homes via the Mandals and the Gram Panchayats.
Importance of Bharat Net and the T-Fiber Grid
The T-Fiber Grid and Bharat Net overall is a key component of the Digital India initiative. After realization, this project will strengthen Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services in newly formed state of Telangana. This will also help in delivering G2G and G2C services in the state. Along with this it will provide triple play services of voice, video and data to the citizens.
