Goutam Deb NTPC’s New Regional Executive Director for Northern Region

Mr. Goutam Deb has assumed charge as the Regional Executive Director of NTPC’s work operations in Northern Region.

NTPC’s new Regional Executive Director (northern region), Mr. Deb, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, North Bengal University. He then went on to complete M.Tech in Industrial Management from IIT Kharagpur in 1988. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, which he earned from Gurgaon’s Management Development Institute (MDI) in 2007.

Mr. Deb joined NTPC in 1988 as an Engineering Executive Trainee. Throughout his 37-year tenure at NTPC, he held several positions across areas of mechanical maintenance, project construction, and operations. He has also served as Regional Executive Director (Hydro) of NTPC and Business Unit Head at Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), a joint venture (JV) among NTPC Limited, IndianOil, Coal India, Fertilizer Corporation of India, and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation. During his career, Mr. Deb served at different locations of NTPC such as Farakka, Dadri, Unchahar, Patratu, and Barauni. He has also served as Head of Project at NTPC’s Talcher Thermal Power project.
