GE T&D Vernova India Secures Major EHV Transformer Order from PGCIL
GE T&D Vernova India Ltd. has secured a supply order for EHV transformers and shunt reactors from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL). While the exact value of the order wasn’t made public, GE Vernova T&D India’s release from 1st May 2025 stated that this is one of the largest orders for the company in India.
Aforementioned order entails the supply of 70 EHV transformers and shunt reactors in the 765 KV class for PGCIL’s Renewable Energy (RE) transmission projects in India. Apart from supply, the company’s scope of work in the order also includes erection, testing, and commissioning of the supplied transformers.
All of these power transformers will be manufactured at GE Vernova T&D India’s Vadodara factory, which has been live since 2009. Delivery of these transformers will begin in CY2026 and will be completed by CY2027-end.
Commenting on this order win, Mr. Sandeep Zanzaria, MD of GE Vernova T&D India said, “These orders reflect the critical role GE Vernova is playing in advancing India’s transmisson infrastructure to support global renewable energy goals”.
