GE T&D India Secures Orders Worth 370 Cr. for Shunt Reactors from PGCIL

General Electric T&D India Ltd. has secured orders valued Rs. 370 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). This information was shared through a press release by GE T&D India on 27th February 2024.

GE T&D India will be designing, engineering, manufacturing and supplying 765 KV class shunt reactors to PGCIL. These reactors will be used in PGCIL’s transmission projects across India, which focus on the “integration of Renewable Energy into the National Electricity Grid” as per GE T&D India’s release. Further, GE T&D India will handle the subsequent testing and commissioning process for these shunt reactors. These reactors are expected to be delivered in financial year 2025-26.

Mr. Sandeep Zanzaria, MD & CEO of GE T&D India, added that to date, GE T&D India has successfully manufactured and supplied over 600 transformers and reactors of 765 KV class from the company’s Power Transformer facility in Vadodara, Gujarat to customers in India as well as overseas.
