Finolex Cables’ Preform Plant Complete, Expansion of FMEG Portfolio
In its earnings call for Q2 FY26 financial results, the management of Finolex Cables mentioned that the construction of its preform plant in Pune is complete. The company is currently awaiting production trials, which are expected to start in the next couple of weeks.
The company had announced the development of its preform plant in June 2023 with an investment of Rs. 290 crore.
Along with the preform plant, the company is also developing a fiber draw plant at Pune, which is expected to be commissioned in March 2026.
Apart from the development of the aforementioned plants, Finolex Cables is targeting to reach Rs. 500 crore in revenue from its FMEG segment by 2028. The FMEG portfolio includes fans, water heaters, lighting, switches, and domestic switchgear. The company has planned new product launches under this segment across several categories, including switches and switchgear, fans, and water heaters. As per Finolex Cables’ management, these products are expected to be launched over the next few quarters.
