EESL and Vodafone Idea to Install 33.3 Lakh Smart Meters in UP and Haryana

Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) have partnered for installing 33.3 lakh Internet of Things (IoT) enabled smart meters in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Vi will be providing IoT connectivity to these smart meters, while EESL will be deploying them under the Smart Meter National Programme.

EESL, partnering with Vi, has already installed 16.7 lakh IoT-based smart meters in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, and this additional installation will take the total number of such installed meters in these two states to 50 lakh. Out of the already installed 16.7 lakh IoT-based smart meters, 5.16 lakh have been installed for DISCOMS in Haryana, while 11.55 lakh have been installed for DISCOMS in UP.
