Britannia Announces INR 94 Crore Expansion

Britannia Industries Limited, Indian food and beverage company, part of Wadia Group has announced to invest Rs 94 crore for the expansion of its manufacturing plant in the Khurda district of Odisha.

Britannia will use this investment to add two new manufacturing lines at the existing plant which shall increase its manufacturing capacity from the current 35,000 metric tonnes to 65,000 metric tonnes per annum.

Britannia plans to increase production of its core brands including Marie Gold, Vita Marie Gold through the expansion.

The new capacity is expected to be operational by October 2022.

At present, the existing facility in Odisha employs 700 people and after this expansion, Britannia will additionally employ up to 450 people taking the total number to 1,150.
