Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA), a Government of India run renewable energy firm, has invited bids from domestic solar module manufacturers for setting up manufacturing units of Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) modules. These units would be set up under the Government of India’s INR 4,500 Crore production linked incentive (PLI) scheme to boost domestic production of solar PV modules.
The last date for submitting applications is 30th June 2021 and the selection process for successful bidders is to be completed by 30th July 2021.
The incentive provided by Government under this scheme would be around Rs. 3.00 per Watt of solar PV module manufacturing. The minimum capacity of manufacturing unit to be installed shall be 1,000 Mega-Watt of solar PV modules per annum. PLI will be disbursed to successful applicants annually for a period of five years.
