BHEL Wins Rs. 1,600 Cr. Order from THDC

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), one of the largest engineering and manufacturing company in India, announced on 9th October 2019 that it had bagged order worth Rs. 1,600 Cr. from THDC India Limited through international competitive bidding.

Scope of the THDC Order

The scope of work in the order includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of Turbine Generator (TG) and associated packages for the greenfield 2×660 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh (U.P). The main components of the order shall be manufactured in BHEL’s Haridwar, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jhansi, Trichy, Thirumayam and Bengaluru facilities.

The on-site construction and installation activities shall be carried out by BHEL’s Power Sector- Northern Region division, Noida.

It has commissioned 58 sets of supercritical boilers and 53 sets of supercritical steam turbine generators so far. It has a network of 17 manufacturing units, 2 repair units, 4 regional offices, 8 service centres, 8 overseas offices, 15 regional centres, and 7 joint ventures.

THDC India Limited is a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was incorporated to develop, operate, and maintain 2400 MW Tehri Hydro Power Complex and other hydro projects.
