Bharat Kaushal is Hitachi India’s New Exec. Chairman

Mr. Bharat Kaushal has been promoted to the position of Hitachi India‘s Executive Chairman. His career at Hitachi India spans almost 8 years. Notably, he was Hitachi India’s first Indian Managing Director, a position to which he was appointed in June 2017.

Mr. Kaushal completed LLB from University of Delhi, and then went on to earn an MBA from Northeastern University, Boston. Subsequently he completed Masters in International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University.

Before joining Hitachi India, Mr. Kaushal was at Sumitomo Banking Corporation (SMBC). He worked there for over 20 years, rising to the position of Chairman in India of SMBC in 2015. He was the first non-Japanese individual to serve as SMBC’s Chairman in India.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Kaushal said, “The new role will place a lot of responsibility in further architecting and driving a forward-looking roadmap for Hitachi’s colossal growth in India”.
