Bajel Projects Secures Rs. 586 Cr. Contract from Power Grid Corporation of India

Bajel Projects Ltd. has won a contract worth Rs. 586.28 crore for supply of Goods and Services from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL). Bajel Projects has secured this project through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB).

This contract is for PGCIL’s 765 KV Double Circuit (DC) transmission line connecting Beawar in Rajasthan to Mandsaur pooling substation in Madhya Pradesh. This transmission line under package TL01 is a part of ‘Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph‐IV (Part‐2: 5.5GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex) Part‐D’. This project is expected to be completed in a period of 23 months from the date of issuance of Letter of Award (LoA).

‘Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph‐IV (Part‐2: 5.5GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex) Part‐D’ is a larger project which includes establishing two, 765 KV switchable line reactors of 240 MVAR each in Beawar and Mandsaur. Further, two line bays of 765 KV each at Beawar substation and Mandsaur substation will also be developed.

Bajel Projects, formerly a division of Bajaj Electricals Ltd., was incorporated as a separate entity in 2022. The company is engaged in executing various high voltage and extra high voltage transmission line projects including 765 KV DC Kudgi-Kolhapur transmission line, and 765 DC Ajmer-Phagi transmission line for PGCIL .
