DMRC Floats Rs. 510 Cr. Tender to Procure Coaches for Bhubaneswar Metro

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has floated a tender for procuring 39 standard gauge coaches for Bhubaneswar Metro’s (Line1) Phase 1 project under Package BRS1. DMRC’s tender specifies an estimated execution cost of Rs. 509.68 crore for this package

Scope of work in this tender includes designing, manufacturing, supplying, testing and commissioning 39 standard gauge coaches for Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1. These coaches will be operated as 13 train sets of 3 coaches each. Orientation of each of these trains will be as: Driving Motor Coach (DMC) + Trailer Coach (TC) + DMC. The tender specifies a delivery period of about 3 years for these coaches.

About the delivery of these coaches, one prototype train set must be delivered within 2 years from the commencement date. Further, the tender specifies that the remaining 12 train sets be delivered in 3 batches of 4 train sets each. These batches are to be delivered within 2 years 8 months, 2 years 10 months and 3 years from the commencement date respectively.
