AMD to Invest USD 400 Mn. in India, Design Centre to come up in Bengaluru
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a US-based semiconductor company, will be investing USD 400 million (approximately Rs. 3,312 crore) by 2028 in India. This investment will include the development of a design centre in Bengaluru. Mr. Mark Papermaster, Chief Technology Officer of AMD, made this announcement at a semiconductor conference held on 28th July 2023 in Gujarat.
This upcoming design centre, which will be AMD’s tenth and biggest facility in India so far, will cover an area of about 5,00,000 sq. ft. It is expected to be completed by 2023 and will generate about 3,000 engineering job opportunities by 2028. AMD is operating across different locations in India and has over 6,500 employees in the country.
