Alstom Transport India Receives LoA for Rolling Stock Contract of Chennai Metro Ph-2

Alstom Transport India Ltd. has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for rolling stock contract ARE04A of Chennai Metro Phase 2. Chennai Metro Rail Limited had floated tender for this project in March 2024.

Scope of work in this project includes designing, manufacturing, and supplying 96 metro coaches for Chennai Metro Phase 2 project. The company will be responsible for testing, and commissioning of these coaches. Alstom Transport India will also train the associated personnel for this project.

The entire contract period has been specified as 1,300 days (approximately 3 years and 7 months), followed by 730 days (2 years) of Defects Notification Period (DNP), and 15 years of Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC) period from the ‘commencement date’.

Alstom Transport India submitted a bid of Rs. 1,538.3 crore for this project. BEML Limited was the second-lowest bidder for this project with a bid of Rs. 1,551.9 crore.
