Afcons Infra, SAM India JV is Lowest Bidder for Agra Metro Project
Afcons Infra-SAM India Joint Venture has emerged as the lowest bidder for construction of Agra Metro Package AGCC-02, with a bid of Rs. 1,819.79 crore. This package covers a 7.93 Km underground section of Agra Metro Phase 1.
The scope of work includes design and construction of the underground tunnel from the start of underground ramp, from Fatehabad Road Metro Station to its end after RBS College Metro Station. It also includes the construction of seven underground stations en-route, namely, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid, SN Medical College, Agra College, Raja ki Mandi and RBS College with architectural finishes.
Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had invited bids for this package in August, 2021 with a budget of Rs. 2,200 crore and a 4-year completion deadline.
Construction is expected to commence in the summer of 2022 with the Taj Mahal-Jama Masjid section.
