Afcons-SAM India JV Places Lowest Bid for Kanpur Metro Contract

Afcons-SAM India Joint Venture has emerged as the lowest bidder for constructing Kanpur Metro Phase 1’s package KNPCC-06 with a bid of Rs. 1,087.67 crore.

This section of Kanpur Metro Phase 1 is estimated to be 4.65 Km long. It connects Nayaganj Station and Transport Nagar Ramp.

The scope of work includes design and construction of six Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM)-bored tunnels, cut and cover tunnel, construction of three underground stations, namely, Kanpur Central, Jhakarkatti, and Transport Nagar including architectural finishes and a ramp from Kanpur Central end of Nayaganj station to the elevated ramp after Transport Nagar.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) had invited tenders for constructing KNPCC-06 in June, 2021, with a construction deadline of 36 months, and a budget of Rs.1,250 crore.
