Adani Power to Supply Additional 800 MW from Anuppur Thermal Plant
Adani Power Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) to supply additional 800 MW of thermal power from its upcoming Anuppur Thermal Power plant in Madhya Pradesh under ‘greenshoe’ option. Adani Power had recently received an LoA to develop 1×800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in MP, and the aforementioned order win will entail development of a second 800 MW supercritical thermal power unit at Anuppur TPP. Thus, with this new award, the company’s total thermal power generation capacity at Anuppur will be 1,600 MW (2×800 MW).
Adani Power will invest around Rs. 21,000 crore in setting up both the units of the Anuppur plant along with associated infrastructure. The company will supply energy generated from this power plant at a tariff of Rs. 5.838 per KWh. Anuppur thermal power project will be developed on a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) basis, and the project (both units) is expected to be commissioned over a period of 60 months.
Earlier in September 2025, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) secured an order worth Rs. 2,600 crore for supplying Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) and allied equipment for the first 800 MW unit of Anuppur Thermal Power Project.
